ABOUT QUAD
Since its founding in 1999, QUAD Productions has produced over a dozen short films and two feature-length documentaries – all focusing on various social justice campaigns, including the award winning documentary, Mountains That Take Wing — Angela Davis, Yuri Kochiyama: A Conversation on Life, Struggles & Liberation (2009, 97 minutes. Distributed by Women Make Movies), and América’s Home (2014, 63 minutes), a documentary that explores the impact of colonization through a matrix of race, gentrification and displacement, empire and popular resistance in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Queer, Broke & Amazing! (2022, 99 minutes)
QUAD's Co-Founders and Co-Directors C. A. Griffith and H. L. T. Quan received three consecutive Film/Video Studio Program post-production residency awards from the Wexner Center for the Arts. They thank the Wexner Center for their generous support which enabled them to complete Mountains That Take Wing (2009), América’s Home and a fine cut of Queer, Broke & Amazing!

C. A. Griffith is an award-winning writer and independent filmmaker. Currently an Associate Professor of Film and Media Production in Arizona State University's Sidney Poitier New American Film School, she is also an Affiliate Faculty in Justice and Social Inquiry, African/African American Studies and the Center for the Study of Race and Democracy.

Long before Michael Soto served as an Associate Producer on
Bad Form: Queer, Broke & Amazing! (working title, Soto was an active and exuberant member of QUAD Productions--working in various capacities from Board Member, additional Camera Operator to Advisor.
Soto is the Executive Director of Equality Arizona, leading a statewide team working to build the political power of LGBTQ+ Arizonans in social, civic, and economic life. A graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Women and Gender Studies and a Master of Science in Justice Studies, he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Justice Studies.

H. L. T. Quan is an an award-winning independent filmmaker, writer and faculty mentor. Currently an Associate Professor of Justice and Social Inquiry in the School of Social Transformation at Arizona State University, Quan is also an Affiliate Faculty in African/African American Studies, Asian Pacific American Studies and Women’s and Gender Studies.
